Iron/Rust/Staining
Rusty,
red water is usually caused by iron deposits within the earth. It is
quite common across our area. It causes staining of fixtures and is
very noticeable in the laundry. Many people also complain of the
taste it imparts to drinking water. Most iron is what is called
“clear water” iron. This type appears clear but is noticeable in
taste and develops a stain as it sets for awhile. The other type of
iron creates a red color in the water as it is drawn from the tap.
This is called “oxidized iron”. This means it is already in a solid
form as it comes from the well. Even though these are both iron
problems they need to be treated differently. In lower levels of
“clear water iron” a water softener can be used. If the amount is
high an iron filter should be installed. If you have red water
“oxidized iron” a chemical free iron filter is required. Trying to
clean iron stains with multiple cleaners is typically a losing
battle. Most are smelly and require toxic
chemicals
to clean the imbedded stains and all that is left is empty bottles
and unknown impact on our environment. Our chemical free iron
removal system will solve all of these problems. Easy to own and
operate, it is totally automatic and requires no programming from
the homeowner. Please call or contact us for a no cost water
